Softer, calmer, greater Mediterranean than its north coast sister, Cornwall's south coast cajoles Cornish rivers into a hotter sea. Head inland for a go to the awe-inspiring Eden Project, or relax on the coast; the historical creeks and sheltered coves around Falmouth and Fowey are a playground for sailors. The up and coming eco hotspot of the south west, with the Eden Project and proposed eco villages of St Austell, there are plenty of green vacation cottages in south Cornwall. Cottages in south Cornwall is best taken between Falmouth and the Tamar Estuary, along the ‘Cornish Riviera’ in which waterside restaurants and coastal pubs abound, plus there is plenty of sight-seeing to be had inland on the Cathedral City of Truro or while exploring the records of Lostwithiel. Cross the harbour at Falmouth to the crusing waters of St Maves at the Roseland peninsula, along this picturesque shoreline of wide estuaries, to the tall ships of Mevagissey, the safe anchorage of Fowey at its estuary mouth and the fishing port of Looe, which all lead up to the Rame peninsula. Home to Freathy Cliff, the Antony Estate and Mount Edgcumbe, Torpoint, and Kingsand searching out toward Plymouth Sound, there may be extra than sufficient for a vacation.
